Honda are reportedly planning to reduce the number of vehicles made in Japan by drastic amounts in the future. Home production could be cut by over half Image courtesy of mitula.net In 2010, 34% of all units were produced in the land of the Rising Sun, however, it has been reported that Honda CEO Takanobu Ito told Japan's Asahi newspaper that Honda will reduce exports to 10-20% over the next 10 years.

Due to the disastrous earthquake and subsequent tsunami experienced in Japan, car manufacturers are experiencing problems with production, notably Honda. This has led to the automaker to delay the new CR-V's release.
